This is Afatasi The Artist's take on the hoodie; a staple garment in her hometown of San Francisco, California. From its infinity hood, which beautifully envelopes and frames the face, to its vibrant, bold, Polynesian-inspired fabric and matching mask, this pop-collar hoodie is sure to turn heads, and garner compliments. This is Afatasi The Artist's fifth (TAPA)stry piece. A play on the biblical story of the "The Three Wise Men", this piece speaks to the layered and complex relationships mothers have with their daughters. The central panel is representative of Afatasi and her two sisters. The light emitted from the guiding star, contains all of the broken English/Samoan phrases Afatasi and her sisters grew up hearing from their mother.
